We cut this classic pattern using 1 1/2" rectangles in different lengths plus a 2 1/2" center square. The basic block is 8" square.
We coordinate a solid and 2 calico prints for the dark side and use natural unbleached muslin on the light side.
Like all Log Cabin designs, the basic blocks can be arranged in a number of ways to create a variety of secondary patterns. The baby/crib quilt pictured is sewn in the "barn raising" pattern. All arrangement possibilities will be included with instructions.
